Kuwait has strongly rejected claims that it participated in the US aggression carried out in Iran. Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United States, Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, stated that such claims are “completely baseless.”

On Saturday (July 26), Kuwait’s official news agency KUNA reported that in a letter sent to the editorial board of The Wall Street Journal, the Ambassador explicitly stated that Kuwait did not participate in any military operation against Iran. Furthermore, permission was not granted to use the country’s territory, airspace, or territorial waters for any offensive operations.

Earlier on Friday, a report by The Wall Street Journal claimed that after Iran launched missile and drone attacks on US military installations in the Persian Gulf region, Kuwait and Bahrain sent fighter jets to strike targets inside Iran. The report was published citing several sources familiar with the matter.

However, the Kuwaiti government has vehemently rejected that claim. The country’s statement is that it has no involvement in any military operation against Iran, and its territory, airspace, or territorial waters have not been allowed for such operations.

On the other hand, Iran claims that the attacks on US military installations in the Persian Gulf region were a retaliation for previous US attacks. Tehran has warned that if US aggression further escalates, the number of attacks in the region will also increase.
